"I've Had The Time Of My Life," "Hungry Eyes" and the "Dirty Dancing" movie were truly a cultural phenomenon, as the music-driven film hit # 1 at the movie box office, and on the music charts. The "I've Had The Time Of My Life" single reached the # 1 spot on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart, and the "Dirty Dancing" Original Soundtrack album was # 1 on the Billboard Album Charts for an amazing 17 weeks. You can hear Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes singing the tune, around the world, on your radio today. In addition to his "Dirty Dancing" hits for Bill Medley, Jennifer Warnes and Eric Carmen, John DeNicola has written songs with and for Eddie Money, John Waite, Annie Haslam, Bernie Worrell, The Sighs, Martin Briley, and many new artists, including Canadian artist Sugar Jones, whose debut CD includes John's song "A Little Bit of Heaven." The Sugar Jones CD, on Universal went platinum. Kristine W also recorded "I'll Be Your Light" which reached # 2 on the national Dance Chart. As a musician, John got his start as a bass player, recording his first record with the band "Flight" on Motown records in 1980. He then went on to play bass with such pop recording artists as Paul Young and Corey Hart, before moving over to the songwriter/producer's chair. John DeNicola has produced records for a number of artists, including The Sighs, for both Big Deal/Caroline Records and Virgin Records (the latter CD along with Ed Stasium), Kara's Flowers debut CD for Reprise Records, Chris Von Sniedern for Big Deal/Caroline Records, the Soundtrack to the film "St. Patrick's Day," the debut CD for The Vegas Nerve, as well as new artists like Shevy Smith ,The Medics and Le Rug. Prior to starting his own label, John had shared an imprint, Omad/Paradigm Records. Bruce Henderson's debut CD, "The Wheels Roll" was released through Omad/Paradigm Records and reached the Top 10 on the Gavin Americana charts and received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and USA Today, and his follow-up, "Beyond the Pale," was then released on Valley Entertainment/DNA in 2000, and internationally in 2001. John DeNicola owned and operated "Jake's Kitchen Sink" Recording Studios, a 24 track audio recording and demo facility in Greenwich Village, New York. In 1999, John established his own independent record label Omad Records, which has issued the debut CD for Philadelphia based alternative band, The Vegas Nerve, entitled "Killjoys Anonymous." Omad released a new CD from Colorado-based band Acoustic Junction entitled "Strange Days" in 2000. John has also produced a new band “Le Rug” and released a 13 song LP. They are currently playing in venues and garnering rave reviews of their live show. John has also written a new song for the stage production of "Dirty Dancing", the musical, which has been selling out in Australia and has opened in Germany and England and set records for fastest selling tickets in both territories. It is also currently opened in Toronto and will open in Holland in March and Chicago in September of 2008.
